The Upper Limb Library/ Elective Amputation

We wanted to make to highlight some excellent Instagram accounts. Some of these individuals have a congenital limb difference, others had an amputation.

It can be hard to relate to other people's limb loss stories because yours is unique. But you may find that you connect with pieces of others' experiences.

Our patient Darren was born with a arteriovenous malformation in his hand which caused him pain. It led him to choose an elective amputation.

After an accident, Wendi's arm was non-functional and gave her a lot of pain. She elected to have it amputated and returned to work at Trader Joe's.
